Red bolts make the car go faster right?

The local Napa came in to save the day with a replacement alternator bolt for the Miata. Bolted right up with no issue and now the alternator works like it should with a constant 14.7V output. What a joy to finally get to drive this car again!

As a celebration for my mechanical success, I had a piece of homemade apple pie, went for a nice swim at the local empty beach with no name, and then made a homemade pizza.

Pizza hit the spot just right! I also did some work on the other car, changing the oil, rotating tires, tightening some belts, and giving it a good clean.

Next project is working on the mountain bike since I just booked a camp site for the weekend after 4th of July. Headed up into the Sierras for my first (and probably only) summer vacation of some sort. Will be doing some lift served biking as well as pedal powering my way up some other trails. Should be able to toss in some disc golf and hiking too. Always love summer up at 9000+ feet!

“went for a nice swim at the local empty beach with no name”

You have no idea how good that is. I live in a state with no natural lakes and am a long drive from a beach. There are two large manmade lakes but they are almost entirely private with just a single public access beach that I know of. More of a waterside sandbox.

Well I do have to share s aid water with sharks and three people died the other day from a wave in the area. So its not exactly an easy beach day kinda area. but yeah first world problems lol

How did that happen? Was it of unexpected intensity? Inexperienced surfers? Sharp rocks?

Sharks are happy to oblige.

I really wanted to play a round of disc golf this weekend. But we are self-quarantining in preparation for a trip to my in-laws. I did drag out my discs and discovered that my favorite driver, a JLS, was heavily oxidized. I spent some time scrubbing the white layer of crud off the surface, then threw a couple of putters around the yard. I always thought it’d be fun to have a portable goal for the back yard. Putting was always the weakest part of my game. Now that I’m getting older, I doubt I’ll be able to drive like I used to. Sheesh, my whole game is falling apart!

From my understanding they were chilling on some rocks close to the water, got grabbed by a larger wave and then tossed into the rocks. Depending on the tide there’s definitely some spots you don’t wanna hang out and I guess they found one. It was just wild that three people in the same spot all died at once. Usually it’s like one person who can’t swim ends up in a bad spot without anyone else around. But this seemed odd.

Better be careful then. That is quite worrying even if it is some sort of freak accident.

Yeah the ocean ain’t fucking around ever. Gotta have respect for it and always expect the unexpected. It’s why I have so much trepidation in just going out into the water on a whim at unknown beaches. Even at the same beach under the same tide conditions, some days it’s just different. Every time I think I have it easy, I’ll eventually get my shit handed to me by a wave and that’s why I like Sandy shallow beaches where I just have to hold my breath and relax if I get tossed. I've spent enough time tumbling in waves to not ever want to do that around any rocks.
